International Human & Workers' Rights
- Starting Points:
- University of Minnesota
Human Rights Library - This site includes all human rights treaties, which are
arranged by subject matter and are searchable. It also includes other United Nations
materials on human rights, U.S. human rights documents, refugee and asylum materials,
several bibliographies, and thematically organized links to over 2500 other human
rights websites, including several sites on specialized human rights topics, such as
bioethics, children, and Pinochet. This site, which is part of the Diana consortium,
is a good starting point for both official documents and links to the materials of
the non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
- Human Rights Internet (HRI) - Offering thematically
organized resource guides (e.g., women's rights, children's rights, UN processes),
publications (many related to UN processes), information on NGOs, and searchable
databases, HRI is perhaps the premier source for links to NGOs around the world. Most
materials are freely accessible; for databases that require an account, consult HRI directly
(special arrangements are possible).
