Primary Law Sources

Primary sources are the actual “law.” Depending on the area in which you are researching, primary law could mean a constitution, a statute, case law (or common law), court rules, or administrative rules and regulations. Think about how you check the weather, some may go to the Weather Channel or AccuWeather, but these Primary Sources obtain their information from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA). NOAA is the primary authority or source for weather in the United States, and is a Primary Source.
