Columbus Firm Members Pledge Scholarship Endowment

Members of the Columbus law firm Gholson, Hicks & Nichols have joined the Lamar Order and pledged $41,000 in membership fees to establish a scholarship endowment.

Speaking on behalf of the firm, member Hunter M. Gholson ('55) said, "All of our attorneys except one are graduates of the Ole Miss Law School, and we desired to do something to express our appreciation for the legal education we received."

The first three-year scholarship from the Gholson, Hicks & Nichols Endowment will be awarded in fall 2003. "We hope the awards will help some students who might not otherwise be able to attend law school," Gholson said.
